Winter ❅ Skin ❅ Care
Your skin is your largest organ and is responsible for protecting the rest of your body from outside elements and invasive pathogens. Keep it healthy + glowing!
❅ ❅ ❅
Listed below are some YL favorite things we've used for years, and they work wonders!
Listed below are some favorite things we've used for years, and they work wonders!
❅ FACE
Use the Satin Facial Scrub to gently exfoliate 2-3x/week to sluff off dry, dull skin cells. The glowing, fresh cells are underneath! I love those rotating face brushes for exfoliating, too.
Don't use a harsh face wash that strips moisture. Any of YL's Cleansers will be gentle and protect those natural oils, but we especially love the Mirah Luminous Cleansing Oil this time of year for removing makeup, dirt, and oils without stripping your own natural moisture.
Be sure to use the ART Toner or Bloom Essence after cleansing to reset your skin's pH and prep it for hydration.
I personally LOVE the ART Renewal Serum! A little dab will do ya just fine! I use it on my 11s, under eyes & crow’s feet areas, laugh lines & more. Ask me.
Boswellia Wrinkle Cream, ART Intensive Mousturizer, & Sheerlumè are all fantastic, thick creams to seal in moisture.
Get the CBD Beauty Boost and add 1/4 dropper to any YL face moisturizer at night (girls- I can't say enough about the Beauty Boost! I'm obsessed and my skin is GLOWING from it!)
Use a dab of Rose Ointment for extra dry patches, or if your skin feels really depleted, get the Essential Beauty Serum for Dry Skin and add 3-4 drops to your face lotion each day!
❅ LIPS
Use the Poppyseed Lip Scrub to gently exfoliate 2-3x/week.
Rose Ointment is awesome as lip balm and works great on kids with chapped lips. Lavender Lip Balm is dreamy, Vanillamint is heavenly. Many are obsessed with Savvy Lip Luxe - a clear, nourishing lip gloss. BE SURE to keep a protective layer on your lips every time you go outside!
(Bonus Tip: toxic toothpastes and mouthwashes can dry lips out. Use Thieves instead! After brushing teeth, use your wet brush in gentle swirls on your lips for a few seconds each day.)
❅ HANDS
Make a DIY sugar scrub to exfoliate your hands 2-3x/week (Sugar Scurb: 1 cup organic sugar + 1/2 cup carrier oil + 8-10 drops any essential oils; store in an airtight jar. We like Costco's Organic Sugar- the texture is just right! Avocado, Grape Seed, or Jojoba make great carrier oils for this).
Don't use harsh soaps! Any YL Foaming Hand Soap or YL Bar Soap will protect your natural biome and won't strip your skin.
After washing, immediately apply any YL hand & body lotion (Genesis, KidScents, and Winter Nights are my favs right now).
Don't use toxic, drying hand sanitizer... Thieves Hand Sanitizer will not dry out your hands!
❅ BODY
Don't use super hot water in the shower, which irritates skin.
Use a YL Shower Gel or Bar Soap, rather than a harsh, toxic soap that strips and dries out your skin.
Use your DIY sugar scrub all over 2-3x/week, rinse with warm water, and pat dry with a towel. (be careful- scrubs can make your shower a bit slippery!)
Before your skin fully dries off, use a YL Body Lotion or YL Massage Oil to seal in moisture- we like to add in extra essential oils we love and get them all over (cypress, lavender, clary sage, or any other favorite).
BATH SOAKS
Drop a Lavender Bath Bomb in or mix up 1 cup epson salts, 1 cup baking soda, 10 drops lavender, 10 drops cedarwood, and 5 drops frankincense (or any other favorite oil combo). And soak a longggg time! Use your sugar scrub and apply lotion or massage oil as soon as you get out.
❅ SUPPLEMENTS FOR SKIN
First of all, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated! Add a pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt, drink the YL Infused Teas, add a drop of any citrus Vitality Oil, or add an ounce of NingXia Red to your glass 1-2x/day for some flavor twists! The YL Vitality Drops are awesome and add electrolytes + flavor too! (our kids love those!)
We can't say enough about Sulfurzyme! Sulfer and MSM are essential for healthy hair, skin, and nails. Get the powder or capsules and take it 2x/day. Our favorite recipe is the famous Red Drink: 20oz water, 1oz NingXia Red, 1tsp Sulfurzyme Powder, and 1 drop lime oil. Drink it 1-2x/day for a major energy boost and to get your Sulfurzyme in daily!
Master Formula is a packet of all your essential nutrients and will give every organ a daily boost, including your skin. Throw them in your purse and take them with breakfast or lunch.
HEATHY FATS
Regularly consume healthy fats- YUM! Supplements like Omegagize, MindWise, and coconut/avocado oil internally help moisturize from the inside out. (if ever you needed an excuse to get extra guac, you got it!)
THE AIR
M
Y'all, get Diffusers going daily in your home, car, and office! That aroma-mist will also add some moisture into the air, which helps big time. Run them allllll day and allllll night!
If you can afford a whole-home humidifier, I highly recommend it! They make a night and day difference for your home. HVAC people always offer deals, so just ask around.

P.S. You can mix up a blend of favorite oils to add to your body lotion/V6 massage oil, or use them for whatever you want!
